Active Release Technique (ART)

Active Release Technique (ART)

ART is a patented soft tissue system and deep massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Overuse conditions are often resolved quickly and permanently with ART. Every ART session is a combination of examination and treatment. Our ART specialists use their hands to evaluate texture, tightness, and movement. Our therapists direct precise attention, in combination with specific patient movements, to treat abnormal tissues. Over 500 particular moves are unique to ART treatment, and they allow our therapists to identify and correct the specific problems affecting each client.

What to expect:

Our massage therapist will instruct you on how to move through a specific range of motion based upon the area undergoing treatment. As the muscle in question goes through the movement, the therapist may also apply targeted pressure. Although discomfort is possible, relief generally follows immediately afterward.

Benefits:

After an ART session, the patient should feel a release of tension in tight muscles, less pain due to the massaging technique, and experience an increased range of motion in what used to be problem areas.

Do you need this?

Active Release Technique may be the best treatment option for people dealing with back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, or a similar condition.
